The Sun Odyssey 42.2 is a French sailboat that was designed by Guy Ribadeau Dumas as an offshore cruiser and first built in 1995.The design was built by Jeanneau in France, from 1995 until 2000 but it is now out of production.

The Sun Odyssey 42.2 is a recreational keelboat, built predominantly of fiberglass, with wood trim. It has a masthead sloop rig, a raked stem, a reverse transom with steps to a swim platform, an internally mounted spade-type rudder controlled by a wheel and a fixed fin keel. It displaces 8,400 kg and carries 2,610 kg of ballast. The boat has a draft of 2.00 m with the standard keel .

The boat is fitted with a diesel engine of 56 hp for docking and maneuvering. The fuel tank 170 L; and the fresh water tanks has a capacity of 460 L. There has been no reported damage (tornado, accident ext.) on board. There is no osmosis on the hull.

The design was built in three cabins version. In this version; the boat has sleeping accommodation for six people, with a double "V"-berth in the bow cabin, two "L"-shaped settees in the main cabin and two aft cabins, both with double berths. The galley is located on the port side amidships. The galley is a straight layout and is equipped with a four-burner stove, an freezer and a double sink. A navigation station is aft of the galley, on the port side. There are two heads, one just aft of the bow cabin on the starboard side and one on the starboard side just forward of the starboard aft cabin.

The boat is located in Marmaris / Turkey and for sale from the second owner. She is in good condition when we take into consideration of the boat age.
