Sail Drive Service

Saildrive systems are commonplace on modern sailboats, taking the place of standard shaft-and-strut running gear.

A saildrive is a transmission system for a boat whose inboard engine has a horizontal output shaft. The saildrive's input shaft is therefore also horizontal. That input shaft is geared so as to drive a vertical intermediate shaft extending downward through the hull. The intermediate shaft is then geared so as to drive a horizontal propeller shaft mounted on a skeg outside the hull.

The transitions from horizontal to vertical and then back to horizontal can be seen as a Z shape, and saildrives are indeed similar to the Z-drive transmissions used on larger vessels. The difference between a saildrive and a Z-drive is that a saildrive's propeller shaft is fixed in place, pointing aft, whereas a Z-drive's propeller shaft can be rotated to any azimuth.

Traditional sailboat transmissions consist of a simple horizontal output shaft extended rearward from the engine, through the stern via a stuffing box. The saildrive has several advantages over the traditional sailboat transmission: smaller horizontal size, no stuffing box to maintain, and the propeller is mounted horizontally instead of at a downward angle.

As TMS, We are Serving all kind of saildrive systems. Feel free to keep in touch with us.

Bow/Stern Thruster Service

Manoeuvering thruster (bow thruster or stern thruster) is a transversal propulsion device built into, or mounted to, either the bow or stern, of a ship or boat to make it more manoeuvrable. Bow thrusters make docking easier, since they allow the captain to turn the vessel to port or starboard side, without using the main propulsion mechanism which requires some forward motion for turning.

Bow thrusters make docking easier. A stern thruster is of the same principle, fitted at the stern. Large ships might have multiple bow thrusters and stern thrusters.

TMS offers bow/stern thruster inspection and repairs. Propulsion service maintains all parts of the bow thruster regardless make or type.

Tanks Service

Holding / Fresh Water / Fuel

Not all sewage tanks and water tanks are created alike. Tanks can be of many different materials.

As holding tank you should prefer plastic materials. For water and fuel stainless steel. Many manufactures have tanks that may work for you, but buyer beware. We see tanks in our workshop every day for repair because they are too thin.

TMS team is ready to service, repair and if necessary renew any kind of tank.

Feel free to keep in touch with us.

Rudder Bearing Service

Boat rudders may be either outboard or inboard. Outboard rudders are hung on the stern or transom.

Inboard rudders are hung from a keel or skeg and are thus fully submerged beneath the hull, connected to the steering mechanism by a rudder post that comes up through the hull to deck level, often into a cockpit.

Inboard keel hung rudders (which are a continuation of the aft trailing edge of the full keel) are traditionally deemed the most damage resistant rudders for off shore sailing.

Better performance with faster handling characteristics can be provided by skeg hung rudders on boats with smaller fin keels.

As TMS, we are servicing all kind or rudders. Feel free to keep in touch with us.

Plumbing Service

Marine hose, depending on where it’s used, must successfully withstand vacuum pressure, handle a wide temperature range, contain poisonous gases and odors, and do all of this without sinking the boat.

No matter what the hose is being used for, the main thing to remember is that marine hose is no place to trade quality for cheaper materials.

The boat’s entire value depends on what happens just inboard of its through-hull fittings. Good hose —hose that can stand up to pressure, heat and chemicals— is a critical boatbuilding component. Is the boat seaworthy? One part of the answer comes directly from the quality of its hose.

Propeller Service & Installation

It is very important to have your propeller repaired if there is damage on it. Usually if the edges are missing pieces, curled edges or even slight damage your prop could be out of track. Causing vibration, cavitation or can even damage your lower unit if ran to long.

Also, your propeller may not show visible signs of damage but could have vibration issues because it is out of balance.

We also offer a full service propeller installation and service (both inboard and outboard) as well as shaft repairs and new shaft sales.

Feel free to keep in touch with us.

Shaft Service & Installation

Shafts are important, highly stressed mechanical elements used to transmit rotary motion from a driver unit to a propeller.

Like any other component, a shaft can fail by one of a series of failure modes. If the shaft is broken or cracked in some sections because of fatigue not much can be done than restore it to a useful part.

In some cases the shaft can be repaired and allined. TMS team is ready for shaft repairs and renewals.

Feel free to contact with us.
