1998 Dufour 35 Classic For Sale - Not Available
Updated: Jul 30
The Dufour 35 is a sailboat designed by the French maritime architect Michel Dufour in the early seventies. Several hundred boats have been produced. The Dufour 35 was built by the French yard Dufour Yachts S.A.
The hull is made of fibreglass. Generally, a hull made of fibreglass requires only a minimum of maintenance during the sailing season. The interior is like many other boats made of mahogany.
The boat is equipped with 3 cabins, 8 berths, a galley, and a toilet facility.
The Dufour 35 is equipped with a fin keel. The fin keel is the most common and provides splendid manoeuvrability. The downside is that it has less directional stability than a long keel.
The keel is made of iron.
Well-balanced and quick, the 35 Classic is one of the lightest cruisers in her class, displacing just 4.5 tons. But she’s sturdy, too – Dufour did not skimp on build quality. A combination of moderate freeboard, pleasing sheer line, low coachroof, and reverse transom make her easy on the eye. The deck layout works well, although the non-slip surfaces could be grippier. She is blessed with a
strong masthead rig, set well forward to avoid the usual masthead drawback of a small mainsail and an overly large foretriangle. The in-mast furling system was observed to be very tight.
The boat is for sale from the second owner. The boat demonstrations will be held during the week's working hours except Sundays. Appointments are needed to see the boat. Please make an appointment at least 3 days before your future visit.
