1986 Beneteau First 305 For Sale - €31.5k (DISCOUNT)
Updated: Jan 30
The Beneteau First 305 is generally considered a well-made boat that sails well and has a good-looking rig. However, it is criticized for having a cramped interior, with tight and narrow berths, particularly for individuals over 6 feet tall. The nav table is also deemed small and not very useful. The boat is seen as more focused on performance, rigging, and handling rather than cruising amenities like storage and a spacious galley. Despite its smaller size, it is said to have a comfortable nav station and tiller steering. The First line of Beneteau boats is generally regarded as a step up in quality from the standard line.
The current owner uses the boat actively. There are no non-functioning systems and/or devices in the boat inventory. The owner of the boat has made various upgrades over the years to create a certain comfort area and continues to do so. Of those; In 2018, the bottom of the boat was scraped down to the gel coat and 5 layers of gel shield were applied. In the same year, all bed and seat foams and upholstery were renewed. In 2021; The engine was completely taken out and all heavy maintenance was done, the front engine mounts were replaced, and the engine battery was renewed with condensate. The service battery, 2x205 W Lexron solar panels and 30 AMP MPPT Lexron solar charge controller were added to the inventory in 2022. In the same year, the sprayhood, lazy bag and bimini, as well as the entire waste water hose line of the boat, were renewed. Engine rear mounts, shaft sleeve and all valves were replaced in 2023. In February 2024, for the protection of the bottom of the hull, 3 layers of gelshield were scraped and 3 layers of gelshield were applied again. Within the scope of pre-season maintenance, the shaft seal was replaced and routine maintenance of the engine was carried out.
It is generally regarded as a well-equipped, quality boat that sails well. However, they have been criticized for having a cramped interior with narrow beds, especially for people over 1.80 meters tall. The boat designer seems to focus more on performance, equipment and handling rather than cruising facilities such as storage and a large galley. Despite its small size, it has a comfortable navigation station and a precise tiller helm. SY Derin Su, one of the first mass-production boats of Beneteau boats, is generally considered a step forward in quality compared to the standard mass-production boats that will be offered by Beneteau shipyard in the following years.
The cabin layout of SY Derin Su includes a double "V"-berth in the bow cabin, an L-shaped settee and a straight settee in the main salon, and an aft cabin with a double berth on the port side. The galley is located on the port side just forward of the companionway ladder and is L-shaped, equipped with a two-burner stove, a refrigerator, and a double sink. A navigation station is opposite the galley, on the starboard side. The head is located aft, on the starboard side, and includes a shower. The cabin's maximum headroom is 178 cm. The boat has a closed aft cockpit and accommodates six berths in two cabins.
She has wintered on land for 2 (two) months every year since 2017. All the boat maintenance needed was carried out during the land period. Since '2017', only Seajet 039 two-component antifouling paint has been used on the hull. The boat inventory includes a set of racing sails in good condition, a Genoa sail (used for 4 years / two seasons) and a spare main sail (in medium condition).
All maintenance of the boat has been carried out before the 2024 season. The boat is based at Marmaris Yacht Marina and is currently at sea. Boat demonstrations will be held during business hours every day of the week, except Sundays. Appointments are required for boat showings. Please make a reservation at least three days before your planned visit.
