Hallberg-Rassy 42E For Sale

The 1982 Hallberg-Rassy 42E is a renowned cruising yacht designed by Olle Enderlein and built by Hallberg-Rassy between 1980 and 1991. This vessel features a clean, flush deck design, which enhances the space below deck and gives the boat a sleek appearance above deck. It has a long fin keel with encapsulated iron ballast and a skeg-hung rudder, providing excellent stability and handling.

Equipped with a powerful Sidepower bow thruster, manoeuvring in tight marinas is easy. The yacht has a ketch rig, making sail handling simpler, especially for a small crew. All sails are seven years old and in good condition. While not particularly fast, the boat offers steady and comfortable cruising performance and is well-known for its seaworthiness and stability, making it suitable for long ocean passages.

The hull is made of solid fibreglass, built to Lloyd’s specifications, ensuring strong construction. The deck utilises sandwich construction to enhance insulation and minimise condensation within. The teak decking is visually appealing and in perfect condition. The interior features high-quality mahogany woodwork, which is both durable and attractive. The boat has a large fibreglass water tank with a capacity of 750 litres and stainless steel fuel tanks upgraded to 500 litres. The electrical system includes multiple batteries and 12V outlets, suitable for cruising needs.

SY Noss of Dart offers comfortable accommodation with two cabins that can sleep 7 to 9 people, a well-equipped galley, and a spacious saloon with 1.85 meters (6 feet 1 inch) of headroom. Ventilation is provided by several opening skylights, portlights, and Dorade vents, all fitted with fly nets to keep the interior comfortable.

The boat is powered by a reliable Perkins 4236M inboard diesel engine, which provides a cruising speed of approximately 8 knots under power. The shaft drive system is low maintenance. The boat comes with many spare parts, including an alternator, VHF radio, and diesel heater.

Overall, SY Noss of Dart is a classic and solidly built bluewater cruiser favoured by many sailors for its comfort, seaworthiness, and easy-to-manage sail plan. It is not designed for racing but excels in stability, safety, and liveaboard comfort, making it a popular choice for serious offshore cruising.

The current owners have had the boat since 2007, having purchased it from friends. SY Noss of Dart is located in Marmaris Yacht Marina. She is for sale from the third owner. Appointments are required to see the boat; please arrange a visit at least three days in advance, considering the boat owners are living on board.
