Updated: Sep 23

The Amel Euros 41s are classic sailing yachts which were built in the 1970s. It was manufactured 35 units between the dates of 1972 and 1978. The interior design of SY Grand Amour significantly enhances comfort at sea through several thoughtful features.

She boasts a well-planned interior with a spacious saloon and two long settees that can convert into additional sleeping berths. This flexibility allows for comfortable lounging during the day and sleeping arrangements at night, accommodating up to seven berths in total. The large dining and card tables provide ample space for meals and activities, promoting a cosy atmosphere below the deck.

The interior is finished in mahogany, which not only adds aesthetic appeal but also contributes to a warm and inviting environment. The use of quality materials throughout the yacht enhances durability while providing a sense of luxury, making long voyages more enjoyable.

The galley 2hich was located on the port side is designed for efficiency and includes plenty of storage space. It is equipped with essential appliances such as a stove, sink, and refrigerator, making meal preparation straightforward. The navigation station on the starboard side is conveniently located for easy access while sailing, ensuring that essential navigational tasks can be performed without discomfort.

SY Grand Amour features two cabins, including an aft cabin with direct access from the cockpit. This design allows for privacy and separation from the main living area. The aft cabin is equipped with a toilet, enhancing convenience during longer journeys. The forward cabin offers a double berth, providing comfortable sleeping arrangements for crew members.

The cockpit is designed to be spacious yet deep, protecting from adverse weather conditions. It offers shade during sunny days, which is essential for comfort while sailing. The overall design prioritizes safety and comfort, making it suitable for various weather conditions, whether in warm southern climates or colder northern waters.

Overall, the interior design of the SY Grand Amour combines functionality, quality materials, and thoughtful layouts to create a comfortable living space at sea. These features ensure that sailors can enjoy their time aboard, whether for short trips or extended voyages.

Although they were typically equipped with a 30 HP Volvo Penta Diesel engine in the 1970s, the original engine was changed with a brand new powerful 75 HP Yanmar diesel engine by the current owner in 2010. The engine is located below decks, providing a clean aft deck layout. It provides an easy access for maintenance and servicing. The engine drives a fixed propeller through a shaft drive system. Fuel is stored in an integral fuel tank, providing good weight distribution. The Yanmar engine provides reliable power for manoeuvring in marinas and motoring when needed. The engine is powerful for the 13.35m yacht, delivering sufficient thrust while maintaining good fuel efficiency.

In summary, the Amel Euros 41 is well-equipped with a robust and well-proven Yanmar diesel engine that is ideally suited for the yacht's intended use of comfortable coastal and offshore cruising.

The boat is on hard standing at DSV Marina, Bozburun, Mugla, Turkey. The hull was refitted in 2013 for full protection and also to avoid osmosis.
