Sail Away - Adult Package Yatching Courses

You'll spend 4 days aboard one of our yachts, where you will be fully involved in the running and handling of the boat. After the course you will be ready to apply for an International Certificate of Competency.

During our Adult Package Yatching Course you will become:
A mature crew leader able to utilise your experience in yacht preparation, passage planning & pilotage, crew management and yacht husbandry.
Skilled in tidal and weather tactics for extended cruising.
Competent to skipper a yacht on any passage of no more than 25 miles from harbour.
Experienced in night sailing, watch keeping and shipping lanes.
An accomplished cruising yacht skipper.
In the morning you will take a brifing from our skippers. This is your chance to gain the knowledge and experience developed by our skippers.
Please note that; You are need to cook on board. We will get moor a port which has a restaurant facility, only two nights. We will be at anchor or night sailing at the other nights. Please be ready to keep sailing with a sandwich in one hand, the wheel or tiller in the other and a drink propped safely in the corner.
Alternatively, anchor in a secluded sheltered bay, enjoy a pre-lunch swim and the range of fresh produce purchased that morning. Follow this with a long siesta; knowing that the only sound you will hear is the whisper of the wind and the gentle lapping of the water against your boat.
Our skippers will teach you prepatation for sea basicaly and praticaly. You will learn; deck working, navigation, pilotage, meteorology, rules of the road, maintenance and repair work, engines, victualling, emergency situations, yacht handling under power, yacht handling under sail, passage making, night cruising. And they will help you to build 200 miles in four days. At the and of the duration, all guests have the knowlege of steering a sailboat and sufficient experience and seatime which you can put yourself forward for an exam to test your skills and knowledge.
After a days sailing you always get a deeply relaxing and satisfying feeling when you are safely tied up. It's a great time to recap on the day's adventures and feed back. You can discuss and ask about the day's adventures to our skipper. If you don't, we are ready for teaching, dont worry!
The course is run on a training yacht (Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45), with maximum of eight guests plus instructor per yacht. You can also book the yacht training for private use or just book a space. Call us to discuss your requirements. Check avaibility.
